Scholarships

At Randolph we honor exceptional students with a variety of grant and scholarship opportunities.

Awarded on the basis of academic achievement, leadership experience, and community involvement (among other things), grants and scholarships can help pay for your journey at Randolph. Transfer students are also eligible for merit scholarships. Among the grant and scholarships opportunities you’ll find:

The Presidential Scholarship

The top merit award available to Randolph College students, the Presidential Scholarship is a full tuition scholarship offered to select first-year applicants who demonstrate exceptional academic qualities along with significant extracurricular pursuits.

*International students are not eligible to receive the Presidential Scholarship.

Students admitted to Randolph College and meeting the criteria listed below are eligible to be considered for the Presidential Scholarship.

Competitive applications will reflect a high school GPA of at least 3.80 (weighted) accompanied by a challenging curriculum of study. Randolph College is test-optional, but if a student believes their standardized test scores will enhance the merits of their application, they are encouraged to offer them as part of their submission.

Applicants are required to submit a 1-3 page, double-spaced writing sample or a 3-5 minute presentation. Each submission will need to be accompanied by at least two letters of recommendation which may include but are not limited to: teachers, counselors, coaches, community leaders, or other persons with non-familial relationships. Semi-finalists will also be required to complete an on-campus interview with the scholarship committee.

*The Presidential Scholarship is a tuition-only scholarship which replaces all other institutional scholarships and grants offered by Randolph College.

The Global Scholars Program

Randolph College’s Global Scholars Program offers students a unique experiential learning opportunity designed to prepare them to be interculturally responsive global citizens and informed leaders.

The highly selective program is available for first-year students and provides funding to participate in international travel.

Randolph’s Global Scholars will develop intercultural competency skills and gain vital experiences learning and exploring the world.

Students who apply for the Presidential Scholarship will also receive consideration for the Global Scholars Scholarship.

The international destination of the Global Scholars will change each year. The first students will travel to Sri Lanka in May 2025 alongside a contingency of faculty and the Quillian Visiting International Scholar.

Scholarships from Outside Sources

Tips for Outside Scholarships:

  • Search for a Variety of Scholarships: Start local then work your way out. The Financial Aid Office recommends exploring multiple sources for scholarships, including churches and community organizations, branches of the military, Masonic Lodges, Elks and Moose Lodges, American Legion and VFW posts, local businesses and trade unions, your high school, as well as parents’ employers who may offer scholarships to their employees’ dependents.
  • Don’t Be Discouraged: Always read the requirements for the scholarship and don’t be discouraged by the name of a scholarship. You may not meet all of the requirements for a particular scholarship, but if you are the only person who applies, you could be the recipient.
  • Avoid Scholarship Scams: You should never have to pay or purchase a product in order to apply or receive a scholarship. Click here for more information on avoiding scholarship scams.

Remember there are numerous scholarship programs available. Student’s must take responsibility to search for outside scholarships. Below are links to various scholarship websites that have been proven helpful to Randolph’s students.

The Financial Aid Office also maintains a list of specialized scholarships, targeted towards students with specific backgrounds, interests, and future goals. If you do not find what you are looking for here, email financialaid@dos5.net or stop by our office at the Admissions Welcome Center.
